You obviously know what your doing. Mine are
8.131 between mounting holes which drop exactly
four inches. They're also about 10 inches long.
and yes I found they were .548 also which I reamed
them to. Because of my strut design they didn't
need spacers. I don't think anything will break,
but I would suggest some loc-tite as I found mine
loose!! I'm also thinking of using a rubber
surrounded bushing (don't know what you call those)
to dampen it a bit. I have a spring solo saddle
in the mail. It should help. I suggest going for
the 8.131 distance between. It works and there's
no rubbing or problem at all, but 8.75 should get
you pretty close to lowrider. Everyone at the
Harley shop today loved my bike and said "Damn,
that things SLAMMED!!"
